Nokia's AI-RAN solution integrates its AI-native anyRAN software with NVIDIA's hardware. The technology is designed to help operators enhance network capacity and improve spectral efficiency as new AI applications create more complex data traffic patterns and higher uplink demand.

The company reported that its platform has already demonstrated spectral efficiency improvements of more than 20% through AI-driven radio innovations. Nokia also outlined a product roadmap with plans for further software-based efficiency gains in 2027 and 2028.

"Together with NVIDIA and our growing ecosystem of partners, we are helping operators transform their networks into intelligent, programmable platforms that can support both connectivity and AI services," said Emma Falck, President of Mobile Infrastructure at Nokia.

Strategic Context

This expansion builds on Nokia's recent AI-RAN milestones, including the launch of what it calls the industry's first commercial AI-native RAN platform. The company has previously announced evaluations with T-Mobile, SoftBank, and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, and noted that trials with partners like NTT DOCOMO are progressing.
