Multi-Asset Platform Monochrome Exchange Launches IEO for MCR Utility Token

Summary
The multi-asset trading venue, founded by former Binance Australia chief Jeff Yew, is offering 5% of its total MCR token supply to support the growth of its platform, which integrates crypto, tokenized equities, and commodities.
Monochrome Exchange, a multi-asset trading platform founded by former Binance Australia CEO Jeff Yew, has launched an Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) for its native utility token, $MCR. The sale supports the platform's goal of unifying trading for cryptocurrencies, tokenized traditional assets, and pre-IPO shares on a single venue with on-chain settlement.
Offering Details
The IEO is being conducted on the Monochrome Exchange Launchpad from September 21 to September 28, according to the company's announcement. The offering provides investors with an opportunity to acquire the MCR token ahead of its broader market listing.
Key terms of the public sale include:
- Token Price: $0.88 per MCR
- Public Sale Supply: 10,500,000 MCR (5% of the total supply)
- Total Supply: Capped at 210,000,000 MCR
- Commitment Asset: USDT
- Vesting Schedule: A one-month cliff followed by a three-month linear vesting period.
Subscriptions are subject to a maximum limit of $100,000 per account, with no minimum commitment required.
Platform and Token Utility
AdMonochrome Exchange is already a live platform with over 260 active markets, offering tokenized exposure to a wide range of assets. These include cryptocurrencies, US and Hong Kong equities like AAPL and NVDA, ETFs such as SPY and QQQ, commodities, and shares in pre-IPO companies like OpenAI and Anthropic.
The MCR token is designed to be integral to the platform's ecosystem. Its primary utilities include providing trading fee discounts of up to 50%, granting access to future token offerings, staking rewards, and participation in platform governance. The token also incorporates a deflationary buy-back-and-burn mechanism, funded by 20% of net platform profits and 25% of Launchpad fees.
Leadership and Context
The exchange is led by Jeff Yew, who previously served as the CEO of Binance Australia. Yew also founded Monochrome Asset Management, the firm behind a spot Bitcoin ETF approved to trade on Cboe in Australia. "We listed the markets first and are offering the token second," Yew stated, emphasizing the platform's product-first approach.
Monochrome Exchange operates as a distinct entity from the regulated Monochrome Asset Management. The company noted that Yew's professional history does not extend any regulatory status or license from its affiliates to the exchange or the MCR token.
