Monochrome Exchange Announces Initial Offering for MCR Utility Token

Summary
Multi-asset trading platform Monochrome Exchange, founded by a former Binance Australia executive, has detailed the terms for the Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) of its native utility token, $MCR.
Monochrome Exchange, a trading platform designed to integrate cryptocurrencies with tokenized traditional assets, has announced an Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) for its native utility token, $MCR. The sale aims to support the platform's ecosystem, which allows users to trade crypto, equities, commodities, and other assets from a single account with on-chain settlement.
Offering Details
The IEO is scheduled to take place directly on the Monochrome Exchange Launchpad from September 21 to September 28, 2026, according to a company press release. Participants can commit USDT to the sale, which has a maximum subscription limit of $100,000 per account.
Key terms of the public sale include:
- Token Price: $0.88 per MCR
- Public Sale Supply: 10,500,000 MCR, representing 5% of the total supply.
- Total Supply: Capped at 210,000,000 MCR.
- Vesting Schedule: Tokens will be subject to a one-month cliff after the Token Generation Event (TGE), followed by a three-month linear vesting period.
Platform and Tokenomics
AdMonochrome Exchange is currently live with over 260 markets, offering spot and perpetual crypto contracts alongside tokenized exposure to US and Hong Kong equities like AAPL and NVDA, ETFs such as SPY, and commodities including gold and crude oil. The platform also lists pre-IPO markets for private companies like OpenAI and Anthropic.
The MCR token is designed to serve several functions, including providing trading fee discounts, granting access to future Launchpad offerings, staking rewards, and governance rights. The tokenomics feature a buy-back and burn mechanism, where 20% of net platform profit and 25% of all Launchpad and Digital IPO fees will be used to purchase MCR from the open market and permanently remove it from circulation.
Context and Leadership
The exchange was founded by Jeff Yew, the former Chief Executive Officer of Binance Australia and founder of Monochrome Asset Management. "The harder problem has always been the market underneath them: liquidity, settlement, and compliance that holds up," Yew stated. "We listed the markets first and are offering the token second."
Monochrome Exchange operates as a separate entity from Monochrome Asset Management, and the professional history of its founder does not confer any regulatory status or license upon the exchange or the MCR token. The company also noted plans to develop a framework for "Digital IPOs," with the first scheduled for Q1 2027.
