Microsoft M365 Executive Ryan Roslansky to Depart Company

Summary
Microsoft has announced the departure of Ryan Roslansky, executive vice president for M365 apps and former LinkedIn CEO. Following the change, LinkedIn CEO Dan Shapero will report directly to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
Microsoft Corp. announced Thursday the upcoming departure of Ryan Roslansky, the executive vice president in charge of M365 apps. Roslansky, who previously served as the chief executive of LinkedIn, will remain with the company in an advisory capacity through the end of the calendar year.
Details of the Transition
In a company blog post, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella confirmed the leadership change. Roslansky stated in the post that his decision to leave was driven by the role's requirement to be based full-time in Redmond, Washington, while his family resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Nadella noted that Roslansky's team spent the last year integrating the product, engineering, and design foundations for the next phase of the company's Copilot AI initiatives. Roslansky will continue to advise Nadella during the transition period.
AdReporting Structure and Background
Following the move, Dan Shapero, the current CEO of LinkedIn, will report directly to Satya Nadella. This change streamlines the reporting structure for the professional networking subsidiary, which Microsoft acquired in 2016.
Roslansky led LinkedIn as its chief executive from 2020 until stepping into the M365 role earlier in 2026. His departure marks a significant leadership transition within one of Microsoft's key product divisions.
