Background

Shares of ME Group International PLC (LSE:MEGP) surged on Monday after the company reaffirmed its full-year profit guidance, providing a key anchor of confidence for investors following a period of share price weakness.

The stock climbed as much as 11.9% to trade at 115.71 pence, rebounding sharply from near its 52-week low of 98.5p, according to an Investing.com report.

Guidance Overshadows Mixed Results

The primary catalyst for the rally was the company's decision to maintain its full-year profit before tax guidance in a range of £69 million to £74 million. This reassurance came alongside the release of interim results for the six months ended April 30, 2026, which showed a mixed performance.

Key financial highlights from the half-year report include:

Sample IUX Markets – In-articleAd
  • Group Revenue: £154.3 million, a slight increase of 0.3% year-over-year.
  • EBITDA: Improved to £57 million, up from £53.2 million in the prior-year period.
  • Profit Before Tax: Dipped 3.8% to £32.7 million.

Laundry Division Drives Growth

A breakdown of the results revealed a strategic shift in the company's revenue streams. The Wash.ME laundry division was the standout performer, posting revenue growth of 16.3% and expanding its network with a net addition of 499 machines.

This growth helped offset a 6.2% decline in revenue from the company's traditional photobooth business. The company attributed the photobooth weakness to regulatory changes in Germany and a softening of activity in some markets during April. Investor sentiment was likely also boosted by a live online presentation for shareholders held by management on the same day as the results.
