LG Electronics Stock Jumps on Nvidia Data Center Certification and Expanded Microsoft Pact

Summary
Shares in the South Korean electronics giant surged after its high-capacity data center cooling unit was certified for Nvidia's AI platform, a development coupled with a strengthened partnership with Microsoft.
Shares of LG Electronics (066570.KS) surged on Tuesday, driven by two significant developments that bolster the company's position in the rapidly growing artificial intelligence infrastructure market.
The stock climbed 7.2% to close at ₩217,000 amid news that its data center cooling technology received a key certification from Nvidia and that the company expanded a strategic partnership with Microsoft.
Nvidia Certification Boosts AI Credentials
LG announced that its 2.5-megawatt (MW) coolant distribution unit (CDU) earned Nvidia's "DSX Ready" certification. This designation qualifies the hardware as a verified component for Nvidia's DSX AI Factory platform, a critical ecosystem for building and deploying AI data centers.
The certification places LG Electronics among a select group of providers, named as one of only three approved CDU partners globally alongside LiquidStack and Vertiv. The approval came just one day after Nvidia officially launched the DSX Ready program on September 21, 2026. This latest qualification completes LG's liquid-cooling lineup, following certifications for its 600kW and 1MW units earlier in the year.
AdDeepening Tech Partnerships
Adding to the positive sentiment, LG also confirmed an expanded strategic partnership with Microsoft. While details were not specified, the collaboration is reportedly focused on AI and data centers, reinforcing investor confidence in LG's strategy to monetize the global buildout of AI infrastructure.
The twin announcements signal LG's deepening integration with the world's leading technology firms, positioning it as a key supplier for the high-performance cooling systems required by power-intensive AI processors. LG's gains significantly outpaced the broader market, with South Korea's benchmark KOSPI index rising 1.7% during the same session.
