KKR Enters Exclusive Talks to Acquire Logoplaste in Potential €1.7 Billion Deal

Summary
Private equity firm KKR & Co. is now the preferred bidder for Portuguese packaging maker Logoplaste, with a potential takeover valued at over €1.7 billion, according to a Bloomberg report.
Private equity giant KKR & Co. (NYSE:KKR) has emerged as the preferred bidder to acquire Portuguese packaging manufacturer Logoplaste, entering into exclusive talks for a deal that could value the company at over €1.7 billion. The development follows the withdrawal of rival bidder Apax Partners LLP from the process, according to a Bloomberg report citing people familiar with the matter.
Exclusive Negotiations
KKR is now in a period of exclusive negotiations with Logoplaste's owners, a significant step forward in the potential acquisition. A final agreement could be reached within the coming weeks, the sources said.
However, the people familiar with the matter cautioned that deliberations are still ongoing. They stressed that there is no certainty a transaction will be finalized.
AdContext and Valuation
The potential takeover highlights significant private equity interest in Portuguese assets and could become one of the country's largest corporate deals this year. Logoplaste's majority owner, the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board, holds a 60% stake and has been working with advisers to orchestrate a sale of the business.
Bloomberg previously reported that both KKR and Apax had submitted binding offers for the packaging firm. The potential valuation of more than €1.7 billion underscores the scale of the proposed transaction in the European packaging sector.
