Investing.com Reports AI Stock Strategies Outperforming Benchmarks Amid Market Volatility

Investing.com has published performance data for its artificial intelligence-driven stock selection strategies, known as ProPicks, indicating that several have generated returns significantly above their market benchmarks. The data release comes as market indices show relative calm on the surface while underlying sectors and individual stocks exhibit wide performance dispersion.
AI Strategy Performance
According to the data released by Investing.com, its longest-running U.S. strategy, Tech Titans, has achieved a 189.8% return since its launch in October 2023. This compares to an 81.2% return for the S&P 500 over the same period, representing an outperformance of over 108 percentage points.
Other strategies have also posted strong returns since their inception, according to the report:
- Mid-Cap Movers: +113.5%
- Energy Elite: +83.3%
- Small-Cap Sprinters: +74.0%
For the year 2026 to date, Investing.com notes that six of its twelve U.S. strategies are ahead of their respective benchmarks. The company also highlighted significant gains in individual holdings within the models during October, such as Cracker Barrel (+33.6%) and Lockheed Martin (+25.7%).
Market Context and Rationale
AdThe report frames the strategies' performance against a backdrop of significant market dispersion. While the S&P 500 was up a modest 0.1% for October through the close on Oct. 26, 2026, individual sectors saw large divergent moves. For example, the S&P 500 Health Care index gained 7.8% in the same period, while the Russell 1000 was down 0.4%.
This type of market, where broad index levels mask strong underlying currents, can create opportunities for stock-selection strategies over passive index investing. The current environment is also marked by investor anticipation of key economic events, including a Federal Open Market Committee meeting beginning Oct. 27. According to Investing.com’s Fed Rate Monitor Tool, the probability of an interest rate hike at the subsequent December meeting was priced at 78.5% as of late Oct. 26.
How the Strategies Work
Investing.com describes its ProPicks AI system as a quantitative tool that screens thousands of global stocks each month. It uses over 150 financial models and more than 15 years of historical data to build equally weighted portfolios of up to 20 stocks for each strategy.
The portfolios are reviewed and rebalanced monthly to add new qualifying stocks and remove those that no longer meet the models' criteria. As with any investment strategy, past performance is not an indicator of future results.
