Investing.com Reports 20% YTD Gain for AI-Driven Dow Jones Stock Strategy

An AI-driven stock selection strategy focused on Dow Jones components has reportedly generated a 20.03% return year-to-date in 2026, outperforming its benchmark by 11.14 percentage points, according to performance data released by its provider, Investing.com.
The figures pertain to the company's "Dominate the Dow" strategy, one of several AI-powered models offered to its subscribers. The strategy analyzes the 30 blue-chip stocks in the Dow Jones Industrial Average and selects the 10 deemed strongest each month based on momentum, valuation, and business performance metrics.
Performance Drivers
Investing.com attributed the strategy's outperformance to significant gains in several key holdings. The data, reported as of the market close on October 27, 2026, highlighted three positions with substantial returns since their entry into the model portfolio:
- Amgen (AMGN): Up 66.86% since being added on December 1, 2024.
- Salesforce (CRM): Up 47.84% since its inclusion on July 1, 2026.
- Microsoft (MSFT): Up 38.53% since it was also added on July 1, 2026.
A fourth holding, Apple (AAPL), has gained 22.94% since its entry on December 1, 2025, according to the report. For the month of October, the strategy was reportedly up 4.89%.
AdMarket Context and Risks
The performance data was released as U.S. markets showed gains ahead of a key Federal Reserve policy decision and quarterly earnings reports from major technology firms, including Microsoft. The report noted that recent gains in the model portfolio were driven more by healthcare stocks like Amgen than by the technology sector.
However, the source material also acknowledged concentration risk, pointing out that a significant portion of the strategy's excess returns came from two stocks (Microsoft and Salesforce) added during the same monthly rebalance. The upcoming earnings for Microsoft and the Federal Reserve's interest rate announcement were cited as potential risks that could impact equity valuations.
It is important to note that the performance data is self-reported by the product's provider. As with any investment strategy, past performance is not an indicator of future results.
