Ingenic Semiconductor Stock Surges 15% After Q3 Profit Skyrockets Nearly 2,600%

Shares of Ingenic Semiconductor Co Ltd surged 15.2% on Wednesday after the chipmaker released a blockbuster third-quarter earnings report that far exceeded expectations, driven by soaring demand from the artificial intelligence sector.
Explosive Quarterly Growth
Ingenic disclosed in its report that net profit attributable to shareholders for the third quarter of 2026 reached approximately RMB 1.419 billion ($195 million). This represents a staggering year-over-year increase of roughly 2,595%.
The company's top-line growth was also robust, with Q3 revenue climbing 164.9% year-over-year to RMB 3.145 billion. The strong quarter extended the company's impressive performance for the year; for the first nine months of 2026, Ingenic reported a cumulative net profit of RMB 2.616 billion, up 922.9% from the prior year.
AI Demand Fuels Chip Segments
The exceptional results were primarily powered by the company's memory chip business. Ingenic cited several contributing factors, including:
Ad- Robust demand for DRAM (Dynamic Random-Access Memory).
- Tight market supply, which has persistently pushed chip prices higher.
- Accelerating adoption of Flash chips within AI server infrastructure.
Beyond memory, the company’s computing chip division also demonstrated significant strength, delivering a gross margin exceeding 64%. This highlights a profitable product mix and strong positioning in high-value market segments.
Market Reaction
Following the earnings release, Ingenic's stock closed at HK$76.95 in Hong Kong trading. The stock's significant rally dramatically outpaced the broader market, as the Hang Seng Index posted a modest gain of 0.3% during the same session. The figures validated and surpassed bullish projections that several brokerages had published ahead of the release.
