Background

Indonesia's benchmark stock index finished Tuesday's session marginally lower, as losses in heavily weighted sectors offset broader market gains. The IDX Composite Index fell 0.09% at the close in Jakarta, weighed down by declines in the Financials, Agriculture, and Basic Industry sectors.

Market Performance

Despite the headline index's decline, market breadth was positive, according to data from the Jakarta Stock Exchange. Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners by a margin of 394 to 247, with 192 issues ending the session unchanged. This dynamic suggests that losses were concentrated in larger-cap index components, while smaller stocks saw more widespread gains.

Among the session's most significant movers were:

  • Top Gainers: Prodia Diagnostic Line Tbk PT (JK:PRDL) surged 25.00% to an all-time high, while Asia Sejahtera Mina Tbk (JK:AGAR) also climbed 25.00%. Sekar Bumi Tbk (JK:SKBM) rose 23.64%.
  • Top Losers: Niramas Utama Tbk PT (JK:JELI) fell 14.90% to a new all-time low. Perdana Bangun Pusaka Tbk PT (JK:KONI) declined 13.64%, and Kioson Komersial Indonesia Tbk PT (JK:KIOS) was down 11.11%.
