IBEX 35 Ends Higher on Sector Strength; ArcelorMittal Surges

Spain's benchmark stock index, the IBEX 35, edged higher on Friday, closing the session with a modest gain driven by strength in the telecommunications and financial services sectors.
Market Performance
The IBEX 35 finished the trading day up 0.32% in Madrid, according to market data. The advance was led by gains in the Telecoms & IT, Financial Services & Real Estate, and Consumer Services sectors.
Despite the positive close for the index, market breadth was negative. On the Madrid Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 100 to 93, with 16 issues ending unchanged. This dynamic suggests the day's gains were concentrated in a number of the index's larger components rather than being broad-based.
Top Movers
Among the top individual performers, steel and mining company ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS) was the standout, surging 6.49%. Other notable gainers included:
Ad- Acerinox (BME:ACX), which added 3.09%.
- Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX), rising 1.82%.
At the other end of the spectrum, the session's biggest decliners were led by Indra A (BME:IDR), which fell 4.44%. Sacyr SA (BME:SCYR) declined 1.25%, and Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) was down 0.98%.

In currency markets, the EUR/USD and EUR/GBP pairs were largely flat, while the US Dollar Index Futures traded down slightly by 0.13%, as reported by Investing.com.
