Havas Shares Surge After First-Half Earnings Beat Expectations

Shares of Havas SA surged on Wednesday after the advertising and communications group reported first-half 2026 financial results that surpassed analyst expectations, sending the stock to its highest level since its spin-off from Vivendi.
The stock climbed 6.6% to €19.50 in Amsterdam trading, hitting a new 52-week high of €20.10 during the session, according to Investing.com data.
Earnings Beat Drives Rally
The rally was fueled by a strong operational performance in the second quarter. Havas reported key first-half results that provided investors with several positive signals:
- Q2 Net Revenue: Reached €724 million, beating the analyst consensus of €708 million by 2%.
- Organic Growth: Grew by 2.5% in the second quarter, in line with the company's full-year target.
- Profitability: Adjusted EBIT for the first half rose 4.2% year-over-year to €150 million, with the EBIT margin expanding by 30 basis points to 11.0%.
- Net Income: Attributable net income increased 13.5% compared to the first half of the prior year.
AdThe market reacted positively despite the company noting that foreign exchange fluctuations created a 340 basis point drag on reported revenue, a headwind investors were willing to overlook given the strength of the underlying business.
North American Strength and Confirmed Outlook
A key driver of investor confidence was the performance in North America, the company's most competitive market. The region delivered 6.9% organic growth in the first half, signaling Havas's ability to win and retain major clients.
Management also reaffirmed its full-year guidance, projecting organic growth between 2% and 3% and reiterating its mid-term margin expansion goals. This confirmation removed a significant source of uncertainty for the market. An ongoing €50 million share buyback program, active since May 2026, further underscored management's confidence in the company's valuation.
