Market breadth on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange was positive, with 350 stocks advancing compared to 307 that declined, while 31 ended the session unchanged. The DAX volatility index, a key measure of investor sentiment, edged up 0.59% to 17.99.
Sector and Stock Movers
The technology sector was a primary driver of the gains. The top-performing stocks on the DAX included:
Ad- Infineon Technologies AG (IFXGn), which surged 5.53%.
- Siemens Energy AG (ENR1n), which added 3.60%.
- Fresenius Medical Care KGaA (FMEG), which rose 2.39%.
In contrast, the insurance sector faced headwinds during the session. The worst performers on the blue-chip index were Munich Reinsurance (MUVGn), which fell 2.75%, and Hannover Rueck SE (HNRGn), which declined 2.60%.
Broader Index Performance
Across the broader indices, there were several standout movements. Semiconductor equipment supplier Aixtron SE (AIXGn) was a top performer on both the MDAX and TecDAX, climbing 8.29%.
However, life sciences group Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (SATG_p) was a significant laggard, falling 8.51% and marking it as the worst performer on both the MDAX and TecDAX indices for the day.
