Generac Surges on $8 Billion Amazon Deal; BCB Bancorp Tumbles on Loan Sale, Share Offering

Shares of Generac Holdings surged in premarket trading Thursday following the announcement of a significant, long-term supply agreement with Amazon, while BCB Bancorp stock fell sharply on news of a capital raise and plans to offload troubled assets.
AI and Infrastructure Deals Boost Tech Stocks
Generac Holdings (GNRC) saw its stock jump 33.7% after the power equipment manufacturer disclosed a deal to supply industrial backup generators for Amazon's global data centers. The agreement includes initial deliveries valued at approximately $2.4 billion for 2027 and 2028, with the total arrangement potentially reaching as much as $8 billion.
As part of the deal, Amazon will receive a warrant to purchase about 1.69 million Generac shares at an exercise price of $200.93. This represents a major new revenue stream for Generac and a significant vote of confidence from a leading hyperscale cloud provider.
Other technology-related stocks also gained on company-specific news:
- Nebius Group NV (NBIS) rose 11.1% after the cloud provider announced broad price increases for its on-demand GPU services, effective October 1. The hikes, which include a roughly 21% increase for the latest Nvidia B300 GPU, signal strong demand for AI computing capacity and may bolster the company's pricing power and profit margins.
- Arm Holdings (ARM) gained 3.3% after its CEO expressed growing confidence in converting over $2 billion in customer demand for its artificial general intelligence (AGI) CPU into revenue, citing improved supply arrangements.
- Vicor (VICR) climbed 11% after entering into a non-exclusive licensing agreement with a leading AI OEM for its Vertical Power Delivery technology.
Regional Bank Under Pressure
AdIn contrast, BCB Bancorp (BCBP) shares fell 4.9% after the New Jersey-based community bank revealed several developments indicating significant financial strain. The company priced an underwritten public offering of 11 million common shares to raise gross proceeds of $85.25 million, a move that will dilute existing shareholders.
BCB Bancorp also disclosed it is marketing approximately $210 million of problem loans and expects to reclassify another $96 million of commercial real estate and cannabis-related loans as held-for-sale. Citing these pressures, the bank said it anticipates reporting a net loss for the third quarter of 2026 between $126.2 million and $136.1 million.
Commodities and Broader Market
U.S.-listed gold miners advanced in premarket trading, tracking a rebound in bullion prices. Spot gold was up 1.4%, supported by a softer U.S. dollar, according to Investing.com. Major producers including Newmont and Barrick Gold each gained about 1.2%.
The moves came as U.S. stock index futures broadly pointed to a higher open, with market participants reacting to the Federal Reserve's latest interest rate decision.
