Fielmann Stock Slides After Company Guides to Low End of 2026 Forecast

Shares of Fielmann AG (FIEG) dropped 3.8% to €40.60 in Thursday trading after the German vision care company released disappointing preliminary first-half results and adjusted its full-year guidance, signaling persistent headwinds in its domestic market.
Weak Growth Prompts Guidance Revision
Fielmann reported that its revenue for the first half of 2026 grew by a modest 2% year-over-year to €1.25 billion, according to a company release. The results highlighted a split between its markets: while international sales growth accelerated to 6% in the second quarter, its German home market saw only slight gains amid weak domestic consumer sentiment.
Following the sluggish performance, management announced it now targets the lower end of its previously stated 2026 guidance. The company's full-year forecast calls for revenue between €2.55 billion and €2.6 billion, representing growth of 5% to 7%. This revision disappointed investor expectations for a more robust outlook.
Technical and Dividend Pressure
The stock's decline was compounded by two additional factors. Thursday marked the ex-dividend date for Fielmann's €1.40 per share annual dividend, which was approved at its Annual General Meeting on July 9. The ex-dividend date results in a mechanical adjustment downward in the share price to reflect the payout to shareholders.
AdFrom a technical perspective, the stock's position had already weakened, having broken below its 20-day and 100-day moving averages earlier in the week. The selling pressure on Thursday pushed the shares near their 52-week low of €39.85, amplifying the downtrend.
Analyst Commentary
Despite the near-term challenges, analysts at Baader Bank maintained their 'Add' rating on the stock with a price target of €50. In a note following the release, the bank acknowledged the positive momentum in international markets but noted that the immediate outlook had become more challenging.
The combination of the revised guidance, the ex-dividend price adjustment, and the breakdown of key technical levels has created significant pressure on Fielmann shares, underscoring investor concerns about the pace of Germany's consumer recovery.
