Everplay Stock Surges on Upgraded Full-Year Profit Forecast

Shares of Everplay (EVPL) climbed 3.2% on Tuesday after the UK-listed game developer significantly raised its full-year guidance, signaling stronger-than-expected performance for the remainder of 2026. The positive outlook overshadowed a planned decline in first-half earnings, driving the stock to a session high of 400.5p before it settled at 386p.
Upgraded Outlook Drives Rally
In its H1 2026 interim results, Everplay announced that its full-year revenue and adjusted EBITDA are now expected to be materially ahead of current consensus forecasts. The company-compiled consensus had previously estimated annual revenue of approximately £175.2 million and adjusted EBITDA of £50.7 million.
This upgraded forecast, often termed a 'reverse profit warning,' provided a significant positive catalyst for the stock. The move stood in contrast to the broader market, which was neutral to slightly negative, indicating the rally was driven almost entirely by company-specific news.
Weaker First-Half by Design
The upgraded guidance came despite softer first-half results, which the company said was part of its strategy. For the first six months of 2026:
Ad- Revenue fell 8% year-over-year to £66.9 million.
- Adjusted EBITDA declined to £9.2 million from £19.2 million in the prior-year period.
Management attributed the weaker H1 performance to a deliberate decision to front-load development investments ahead of a packed release schedule planned for the second half of the year.
Underlying Strength and Analyst Confidence
Investors were also encouraged by signs of the company's underlying financial health. Everplay reported a strong cash position of £57.1 million, declared an interim dividend of 1.1p per share, and noted a robust operating cash conversion of 128%. The company also highlighted strong performance from its back-catalogue of over 150 titles.
Adding to its strategic positioning, Everplay increased its stake in Super Media Group, the owner of 'Wardogs' developer Bulkhead, to 28%. Following the report, analysts at Shore Capital maintained their Buy rating on the stock with a 430p price target, a view consistent with the broader market consensus.
