Eurofins Stock Falls After H1 Organic Growth Misses Estimates

Shares of Eurofins Scientific SE (EUFI) dropped sharply on Tuesday after the laboratory testing group reported first-half organic revenue growth that missed analyst expectations, raising investor concerns about a slowdown in key business segments.
Growth Concerns Drive Sell-Off
The primary driver for the stock's decline was the company's top-line performance for the first six months of 2026. Eurofins posted organic revenue growth of 2.7%, falling significantly short of the analyst consensus forecast of approximately 4.2%.
A key point of concern for investors was the performance of the biopharma testing division. The segment saw a sequential decline of -1.1% in the second quarter, a sharp reversal from the 1.1% growth it recorded in the first quarter, amplifying disappointment in one of the company's higher-growth units.
Profitability and Outlook
AdDespite the growth miss, other aspects of the financial report were more positive. Total first-half revenue was approximately €3.7 billion, which was broadly in line with consensus estimates. The company also demonstrated improved profitability, with adjusted EBITDA rising 8% year-over-year and its margin expanding to 23.7% from 22.4% a year earlier.
Looking ahead, Eurofins management confirmed its full-year guidance. The company continues to project mid-single-digit organic growth and further margin expansion toward its 2027 target of 24%.
Market Reaction
Investors reacted negatively to the growth figures, sending Eurofins shares down by 6.0% to trade at €66.35 in Paris. The sell-off was exacerbated by a generally cautious tone in global equity markets, which offered little support. The combination of a meaningful miss on a key growth metric and weakness in a crucial business division overshadowed the positive margin performance, leading to the significant decline in the company's stock price.
