Ems Chemie Shares Climb on Strong H1 Earnings and Upgraded Sales Forecast

Shares in Ems Chemie (EMSN) rallied on Tuesday after the Swiss specialty chemicals group reported first-half 2026 results that surpassed analyst expectations and raised its full-year revenue guidance.
The positive investor response, which pushed the stock up 2.3% to a session high of CHF 706, was driven by a combination of strong profitability, an improved outlook, and increased shareholder returns.
Earnings Beat and Margin Expansion
Ems Chemie announced that its operating income (EBIT) for the first half of the year rose 4.7% to CHF 310 million. The company's focus on high-margin specialty products and disciplined cost management helped widen its EBIT margin to 30.6%, up from 29.1% in the same period a year earlier.
Other key performance indicators also showed strength:
Ad- EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) climbed to CHF 336 million.
- The EBITDA margin expanded to 33.2% from 31.7% in the prior year.
Upgraded Outlook and Dividend Hike
Alongside the robust earnings, management lifted its net sales forecast for the full year, signaling confidence in demand despite significant headwinds from a stronger Swiss franc. The company cited strong growth in demand for its metal-replacement and energy-saving solutions.
Ems also identified emerging expansion opportunities in sectors such as electric vehicles, robotics, and data centers. Further appealing to investors, the board announced its intention to propose a total dividend of CHF 18.40 per share at its annual general meeting on August 8, an increase from CHF 17.25 paid the previous year.
