DXC Technology Stock Drops Over 6% on Executive Restructuring

Summary
Shares of DXC Technology Co. fell sharply after the IT services company announced a significant leadership overhaul, including the appointment of a new president and a new head for its infrastructure services unit.
DXC Technology Co. (NYSE:DXC) shares declined significantly on Thursday, closing down 6.1% after the company announced a major leadership restructuring. The changes include the appointment of Paul Taylor to the newly created role of president.
Details of the Overhaul
Under the new structure, Paul Taylor will assume the role of president, a position previously held by CEO Raul Fernandez. Mr. Fernandez will continue to serve as the company's chief executive officer.
The company also promoted Dan Gray to president of its Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) division. He replaces Chris Drumgoole, who is departing for a leadership position outside the company but will join DXC's newly formed CEO Advisory Council.
New Operational Structure
As president, Taylor will lead DXC's global operating business, taking responsibility for commercial execution and performance across the company's approximately $13 billion business. The following three global divisions will report directly to him:
Ad- Global Infrastructure Services
- Consulting & Engineering Services
- Insurance Software & Business Process Services
Taylor brings over 30 years of experience, including a tenure as a partner at IHS Markit and, more recently, as founder of the AI-driven fintech firm HUB. Gray is a 19-year veteran of DXC, most recently serving as vice president and chief technology officer for the GIS division, where he led a team of over 45,000 professionals.
Context and Market Reaction
DXC stated the appointments are another step in its strategy to build an "AI-centric future," following the earlier naming of Holly Grant as president of AI Innovation and Strategy. However, the immediate market response to the executive shuffle was negative, reflecting investor uncertainty about the changes at the top.
