Crypto Data Firm Kaiko Secures $110 Million in Funding Led by S&P Global

Summary
The digital asset data provider's latest funding round, which also included investors like Nasdaq and BNP Paribas, signals growing institutional demand for reliable market infrastructure.
New York-based crypto data provider Kaiko has raised $110 million in a new funding round led by S&P Global, a move that highlights the increasing integration of traditional financial institutions into the digital asset ecosystem.
Institutional Backing and Strategic Goals
The funding round saw participation from a roster of major financial players, underscoring the growing institutional interest in the crypto market's data infrastructure. Kaiko announced the new capital infusion in a statement on Monday.
Key investors in the round included:
- S&P Global (lead investor)
- BNP Paribas
- Nasdaq
- Royal Bank of Canada
- Susquehanna
- French state investor Bpifrance
AdKaiko, founded in France in 2014, stated it will use the funds to strengthen its data business and expand its product offerings. The firm currently aggregates data from more than 150 different cryptocurrency exchanges and protocols.
A Sign of Market Maturation
This investment arrives even as cryptocurrency prices have pulled back from their late 2025 peaks. However, it signals that established financial firms are focused on the long-term potential of the underlying technology, particularly in the area of "tokenization"—the process of creating digital tokens to represent traditional assets like stocks and bonds.
“As digital assets accelerate, S&P Global is investing for the future, and this investment underscores that conviction,” said Cathy Clay, CEO of S&P Dow Jones Indices, in a statement. The move reflects a broader trend of financial institutions seeking reliable, high-quality data to navigate the complexities and opportunities within digital asset markets.
