The positive performance in energy shares like TotalEnergies coincided with a rally in oil markets. September contracts for Brent crude rose 2.08% to $91.08 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for September delivery gained 2.18% to $84.28 a barrel.
In other markets, August Gold Futures were up 1.64%. The U.S. Dollar Index Futures saw a slight increase of 0.16%, while the EUR/USD currency pair remained relatively stable.
