Summary
The clinical-stage biopharmaceutical firm plans to raise up to $318.8 million by offering 18.8 million shares, with proceeds funding development of its lead heart disease therapeutic.
Clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company Braveheart Bio is targeting a valuation of up to $1.2 billion in its U.S. initial public offering, according to a regulatory filing on Thursday. The company aims to raise as much as $318.8 million to advance its pipeline of cardiovascular disease treatments.
Offering Details
The San Francisco-based firm plans to offer 18.8 million shares at a price range of $15 to $17 each, the filing stated. Braveheart Bio intends to list its shares on the Nasdaq Global Market under the ticker symbol "BRVE".
Cornerstone investor Fidelity Management & Research has indicated non-binding interest in purchasing up to $75 million worth of shares in the offering. The joint bookrunners for the IPO include Goldman Sachs, Jefferies, TD Cowen, Stifel, and Cantor.
Focus on Heart Disease
Braveheart Bio specializes in developing novel therapeutics for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), a condition where the heart muscle thickens abnormally, impairing its ability to pump blood effectively. The company plans to use the net proceeds to fund the clinical development of its lead product candidate, BHB-1893.
AdBHB-1893 is an oral cardiac myosin inhibitor designed to treat both obstructive and non-obstructive forms of HCM. Remaining funds will be allocated to further research and development, as well as general corporate purposes.
Market Context and Backing
The proposed offering comes amid a reported comeback for biotechnology IPOs in 2026, with some analysts suggesting that capital is rotating from sectors with stretched valuations, such as technology and AI, into healthcare.
Founded in 2024, Braveheart has previously raised approximately $185 million in Series A financing from a syndicate of prominent investors. Its key backers include Andreessen Horowitz, Forbion, and OrbiMed.
