Boeing Secures $241.3 Million Navy Contract for F/A-18 and EA-18G Aircraft Repair

The Boeing Company has been awarded a delivery order with a ceiling value of $241.3 million by the U.S. Department of Defense to perform repairs on key naval aircraft. The contract, announced by the Pentagon, covers the flight control surfaces for the U.S. Navy's F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler fleets.
Contract Scope and Timeline
Under the terms of the agreement, which was issued against a basic ordering agreement from 2022, Boeing will be responsible for repairing nine different configurations of flight control surfaces for the specified aircraft. The work is expected to be completed by September 2032.
The majority of the repair work, 83%, will be conducted at Boeing's facility in Jacksonville, Florida. The remaining 17% is slated to be completed in St. Louis, Missouri, another key site for the company's defense operations.
Financial and Procurement Details
At the time of the award, the Navy obligated $60.3 million, representing 25% of the contract's total value. According to the DoD, these funds are from fiscal year 2026 Navy working capital funds and will not expire at the end of the fiscal year.
AdThis contract was a sole-source acquisition, with Boeing being the only company solicited and the only one to submit a proposal. The contracting activity is the Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Context for Investors
This long-term sustainment contract provides a stable, multi-year revenue stream for Boeing's Defense, Space & Security (BDS) division. Maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) agreements are critical for defense contractors, often offering more predictable income than new platform production programs, which can be subject to budget fluctuations.
The award reinforces Boeing's essential role as the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and primary support provider for the Navy's frontline carrier-based fighter and electronic warfare aircraft, ensuring fleet readiness for years to come.
