Boeing Secures $241 Million U.S. Navy Contract for F/A-18 Repair Work

The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA) has been awarded a $241.3 million contract from the U.S. Department of Defense for the repair of flight control surfaces on the Navy's F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft. The award is a delivery order issued under a basic ordering agreement established in 2022, providing a long-term maintenance workload for the aerospace giant.
Contract Details
Under the terms of the agreement, Boeing will service nine different configurations of flight control surfaces essential for the operation of these key naval aircraft. The work is scheduled to be performed over a lengthy period, with an expected completion date of September 2032.
The contract work will be primarily conducted at Boeing's facility in Jacksonville, Florida, which will handle 83% of the repairs. The remaining 17% will be completed in St. Louis, Missouri. The Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is the contracting activity, according to the official announcement.
AdFinancial and Procurement Terms
The Navy will obligate an initial $60.3 million from its fiscal 2026 working capital funds at the time of the award. These funds are designated not to expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The total contract value represents a ceiling-price delivery order, with the remaining $181 million committed for the full scope of work.
Boeing was the sole-source provider solicited for this requirement under federal acquisition regulations (10 U.S. Code 3204 (a)(1)), and it submitted the only offer received. This underscores the company's critical role as the original equipment manufacturer and its entrenched position in sustaining the Navy's tactical fighter fleet.
