Bloom Energy Stock Soars on Record Q2 Earnings, Raises Guidance on AI Demand

Summary
Bloom Energy shares jumped in after-hours trading after the company reported record second-quarter revenue that surpassed $1 billion for the first time and significantly raised its full-year forecast, citing accelerating demand from AI data centers.
Bloom Energy (NYSE:BE) shares surged in extended trading Tuesday after the clean energy company reported record second-quarter financial results that far exceeded analyst expectations and raised its full-year guidance, citing powerful demand from the artificial intelligence sector.
The stock jumped nearly 9.8% in after-hours trading. The move followed a roughly 13% drop during the regular session, amplifying the post-earnings recovery as investors reacted to the strong operational performance.
Record-Breaking Financial Performance
Bloom Energy announced it achieved record quarterly revenue of $1.065 billion, crossing the billion-dollar threshold for the first time. The results were driven by explosive growth, with total revenue increasing 166% year-over-year and product revenue climbing 215%.
Profitability metrics also showed substantial improvement compared to the prior-year period. Key highlights for the second quarter of 2026 include:
- Gross Margin: Expanded to 33.4%, an increase of 668 basis points.
- Non-GAAP Operating Income: Soared to $239.6 million, up from $28.6 million.
- Adjusted EBITDA: Reached $253.4 million, more than a sixfold increase year-over-year.
Upgraded Full-Year Outlook
AdBuoyed by the strong results and robust demand pipeline, Bloom Energy significantly raised its financial forecast for the full year 2026. The company now expects revenue in the range of $3.9 billion to $4.2 billion, a notable increase from its previous guidance of $3.4 billion to $3.8 billion. The new midpoint implies approximately 100% year-over-year growth.
Management also guided for a full-year non-GAAP gross margin of approximately 34% and non-GAAP operating income between $800 million and $900 million. The company's adjusted earnings per share (EPS) forecast was raised to a range of $2.55 to $2.85.
Context: AI Demand Fuels Growth
Company leadership attributed the strong performance to the rapidly growing power needs of AI infrastructure. According to CEO KR Sridhar, "the demand for Bloom Energy’s solutions keeps accelerating every quarter," adding that all major U.S. hyperscalers have validated its power solutions for their "AI factories."
The decisive earnings beat provided a company-specific catalyst, allowing the stock to rally independently of the broader market, which was largely flat. The results appeared to confirm to investors that Bloom's opportunity in the AI data center market can translate into both significant revenue growth and expanding profitability.
