Blackboard and Aster Launch Trading Competition With Prize Pool Up to $100,000

Summary
On-chain trading terminal Blackboard and decentralized exchange Aster are partnering for a month-long trading competition, offering a scalable prize pool of up to $100,000 to incentivize volume and user activity.
Blackboard, a non-custodial trading terminal, and the perpetual decentralized exchange (DEX) Aster have announced a joint trading competition with a prize pool that could reach up to $100,000. The event, scheduled to run from October 10 to November 10, 2026, aims to attract traders and boost volume on the on-chain derivatives platforms, according to a company statement released on October 1.
Competition Structure and Prizes
Registration for the event is now open to waitlisted users. The competition features a dynamic prize pool that begins with a guaranteed $17,000 and can increase to $100,000 as the combined trading volume of qualified participants grows.
Participants will compete on two separate leaderboards—one for total trading volume and another for net profit and loss (PnL). To qualify for rewards, traders must generate a minimum of $50,000 in trading volume during the competition period.
Key details of the prize distribution include:
- Volume Leaderboard: A prize pool of up to $70,000 will be distributed among as many as 50 top traders by volume.
- PnL Leaderboard: A prize pool of up to $30,000 will be awarded to as many as 25 top traders based on profitability.
Market Significance
AdTrading competitions are a common strategy in the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector used to stimulate user acquisition, deepen liquidity, and generate on-chain activity. This collaboration between a trading interface (Blackboard) and an underlying exchange (Aster) highlights a trend toward building integrated ecosystems to improve the user experience.
By incentivizing high-volume trading, the platforms aim to stress-test their infrastructure and attract the consistent flow of liquidity that is critical for the efficient operation of a decentralized derivatives market. The event provides an opportunity for traders to engage with both platforms while competing for a significant, performance-based reward pool.
About the Platforms
Blackboard operates as a non-custodial on-chain trading terminal, providing users with a single interface to access various markets, including perpetual futures and prediction markets, while allowing them to retain full control of their assets.
Aster is described as a privacy-focused, on-chain trading platform built on its own Layer 1 blockchain, Aster Chain. The DEX, backed by YZi Labs, offers features such as hidden orders and provides markets for perpetuals, spot trading, and yield-generating products.
