BitPath Holdings Taps altFINS for AI-Powered Digital Asset Treasury Strategy

Crypto analytics provider altFINS has entered a strategic partnership with BitPath Holdings, Inc. (OTC: BPTH) to launch an actively managed digital asset treasury strategy, the companies announced. The collaboration will see altFINS provide institutional-grade analytics and AI-driven tools to manage BitPath's corporate crypto portfolio, marking a significant corporate pivot for the former biotechnology firm.
A Shift to Active Treasury Management
The partnership aims to establish a "Gen 2 Digital Asset Treasury" model, moving beyond the passive, single-asset "buy and hold" strategies adopted by early corporate crypto investors. This new approach is designed to reduce the concentration risk and market volatility associated with holding a single cryptocurrency like Bitcoin.
"The era of passive ’buy and hold’ digital asset treasuries is evolving," said Richard Fetyko, Founder and CEO of altFINS, in a statement. He explained that the partnership sets "a new standard for Gen 2 treasury management" by using a diversified, data-driven strategy.
altFINS will manage BitPath’s crypto exchange accounts, utilizing both long and short positions across a diversified basket of digital assets. The portfolio will focus on sectors including Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks, decentralized finance (DeFi), and Real World Asset (RWA) tokenization.
Financial Terms and Strategic Alignment
To solidify the partnership, the companies have agreed to a multi-part deal that aligns their long-term interests:
Ad- BitPath has issued 2,561,822 restricted common shares to altFINS, representing 4.9% of its common shares outstanding.
- BitPath secured an option to invest up to two million euros in altFINS for an ownership stake of up to 22%.
- altFINS will receive a 1.25% management fee on BitPath’s crypto portfolio, supplemented by performance-based bonuses.
In addition to the financial terms, altFINS CEO Richard Fetyko has been appointed to the BitPath Holdings Advisory Board to lead its digital asset strategy.
Context: BitPath's Corporate Pivot
The move marks a strategic transformation for BitPath Holdings, which was formerly known as Bio-Path Holdings, a biotechnology company focused on mRNA-based treatments. The company stated it is now pivoting to focus on cryptocurrency trading and social media investments.
Vik Grover, CEO of BitPath Holdings, cited institutional adoption and a potentially favorable regulatory environment as key drivers for the shift. "I believe the age of Gen 1 DATs will be eclipsed by active management and Gen 2 platforms using AI that marries technical analysis to fundamental research," Grover stated.
