Bitmine Immersion Stock Surges on Record Ethereum Holdings and Share Buybacks

Summary
Shares of Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) surged after the company disclosed record Ethereum holdings totaling nearly 4.8% of the token's supply and detailed significant share repurchase activity.
Shares of Bitmine Immersion Technologies Inc. (BMNR) surged as much as 13.4% in Monday morning trading after the company published a bullish operational update revealing record Ethereum holdings and significant share repurchase activity.
Record Holdings and Buybacks
In its weekly operational update, Bitmine disclosed total cryptocurrency and cash holdings of $11.8 billion as of July 26, 2026. The company's balance sheet was anchored by its largest-ever reported position in Ethereum.
Key holdings include:
- 5,787,414 Ethereum (ETH) tokens, valued at $1,948 per token. This position represents approximately 4.8% of the total circulating ETH supply.
- 208 Bitcoin (BTC).
- $268 million in cash and marketable securities.
- A $180 million stake in Beast Industries and a $61 million stake in Eightco Holdings.
Adding to the bullish sentiment, Bitmine confirmed it has bought back 11.6 million shares of its common stock since July 1, 2026, as part of its previously authorized $4 billion repurchase program. Such buybacks reduce the number of shares outstanding, increasing each remaining share's proportional ownership of the company's assets.
AdStaking Revenue and Market Backdrop
The company also noted that approximately 85% of its ETH holdings, or 4,917,189 ETH, are currently staked via its MAVAN validator platform. Chairman Tom Lee projected that this activity could generate up to $299 million in annualized staking revenues at full scale.
The move was amplified by a strong day for Ethereum itself, which was trading up approximately 4.3% above $1,950. The token's strength was attributed to institutional inflows into spot ETH exchange-traded funds and investor optimism ahead of the network's upcoming "Glamsterdam" upgrade. A constructive U.S. equity market, with major indices in the green, provided a supportive backdrop for risk assets.
Market Reaction
The combination of the strong holdings disclosure, aggressive buybacks, and a favorable market environment propelled BMNR shares to a session high of $18.02. The stock was trading at $17.75, up 12.4%, in morning trading, marking a significant recovery from its 52-week low of $12.80 set in recent weeks.
