Bitcoin Stalls Near $64,000 as Stablecoin Inflows Signal Weakening Demand

Bitcoin's price hovered near the $64,000 mark on Saturday, holding a narrow range as key on-chain metrics pointed to weakening investor demand. The leading cryptocurrency's price action reflects a broader lack of momentum in the digital asset market, which has been in a bearish trend since October.
According to Binance market data, Bitcoin was trading at $64,332, a modest 0.25% gain over the past 24 hours. The asset remains approximately 50% below its all-time high, with Saturday's trading confined to a range between $63,703 and $65,396.
Weakening Inflows Signal Tepid Demand
A key indicator of waning buying pressure comes from stablecoin flows. CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost noted that stablecoin transfers to exchanges have fallen to their lowest levels since 2025. Stablecoins are often used by traders as on-ramps to purchase other cryptocurrencies, and a decline in inflows suggests less capital is being prepared for deployment.
Data from the analytics platform highlights the trend:
- The 30-day average inflow of USDT and USDC on the Ethereum network is now approximately $2.3 billion.
- This figure is significantly lower than the 365-day average of $3.7 billion.
- For comparison, at the time of Bitcoin's last all-time high, the 30-day average inflow was around $5.6 billion, while the 365-day average stood at $4.3 billion.
AdCorporate and Regulatory Landscape
In corporate news, MicroStrategy, a prominent corporate holder of Bitcoin, introduced a new metric to provide shareholders with a clearer view of its net exposure to the digital asset. The company reported a new "net reserve size" of $36.6 billion, calculated by adding its $55.6 billion in Bitcoin holdings and $3.2 billion in cash, then subtracting $22.3 billion in convertible debt and preferred equity.
Meanwhile, regulatory uncertainty continues to weigh on the market. The Digital Asset Market Clarity Act failed to secure enough support in the U.S. Senate to advance. According to the report, Democrats cited concerns over what they considered insufficient ethics provisions for senior government officials. Senate Majority Leader John Thune reportedly stated that the bill is unlikely to pass before the summer recess.
Broader Crypto Market Stagnates
The broader cryptocurrency market showed mixed but muted performance. Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, was up 0.6% to trade at $1,832. Other major altcoins posted minor gains, with XRP rising 0.72% to $1.09, while Solana and Cardano saw increases of 0.89% and 0.6%, respectively.
