Aster, World Liberty Financial Launch Rewards Program for New RWA Crypto Derivatives

On-chain trading platform Aster has partnered with World Liberty Financial (WLFI) to launch an incentive program for new perpetual contracts tied to real-world assets (RWAs), according to a company announcement. The campaign features a rewards pool of 125 million $WLFI tokens and 6.25 million USD1 stablecoins to drive trading activity.
Campaign Details and Structure
The "USD1 RWA Boost: Phase 1" program runs from August 31 to December 31, 2026. It is designed to promote trading in a new set of perpetual markets settled in the USD1 stablecoin. According to the release, the initial eligible pairs include derivatives tracking gold (XAU), crude oil (CL), and several equities, including SPCX, SNDK, SKHYNIX, and MU.
Traders can earn rewards through two primary mechanisms:
- Trading Points: Awarded based on taker volume on eligible pairs, determining a user's share of the 6.25 million USD1 reward pool.
- Open Interest (OI) Points: Earned by holding eligible positions, which determines a user's share of the 125 million $WLFI pool. Using USD1 as collateral provides a 2x boost on OI Points.
A New Framework for On-Chain Listings
AdThe launch is the first major application of Aster's new AOS-2 framework, a standardized on-chain process for listing new perpetual markets. The system allows projects to propose new markets by staking 1 million $ASTER tokens, which then face a vote by on-chain validators. Aster's risk team retains control over trading parameters like leverage.
"AOS-2 is turning Aster from a decentralized perp exchange into an open infrastructure layer where anyone can launch and operate their own perpetual markets," said Aster CEO Leonard in a statement. "The first USD1 RWA perpetuals show that model is already working."
Market Context: Tokenizing Real-World Assets
This initiative taps into the growing trend of tokenizing real-world assets for use within decentralized finance (DeFi). By offering perpetuals on traditional assets like commodities and stocks, the platforms aim to bridge conventional markets with blockchain-based trading infrastructure.
The use of a single stablecoin, USD1, for settlement across all these markets is a key strategic element. "Perpetuals on gold, energy, and equities, all denominated in USD1, give traders one dollar instrument across every one of these markets," stated Zach Witkoff, Co-Founder and CEO of World Liberty Financial. "This is where onchain market structure is heading."
