Alleima Stock Plunges Over 12% After Q3 Earnings Miss Analyst Estimates

Shares of Alleima AB (ALLEI) plunged in Thursday trading after the company's third-quarter interim report for 2026 appeared to disappoint investors. The stock fell as much as 12.3% to SEK 98.85, erasing gains accumulated since the summer.
Earnings Fall Short of Expectations
The aggressive sell-off was triggered by results that fell short of market consensus. According to figures compiled by Factset from six analyst estimates, the market had anticipated:
- Adjusted operating profit of SEK 244 million
- Revenues of approximately SEK 4,372 million
Alleima's failure to meet these targets prompted an immediate negative reaction, with the share price dropping to a session low of SEK 96.10 from an opening price of SEK 113. This follows a similar pattern from earlier in the year, when the company's stock declined roughly 10% after its fourth-quarter 2025 results missed revenue forecasts.
AdAnalyst Caution and Market Headwinds
The sharp decline occurred amid a backdrop of pre-existing analyst caution and a weak broader market. The average analyst price target consensus of around SEK 103–106 ahead of the report already implied potential downside from recent trading levels, signaling low conviction in a positive earnings surprise.
This sentiment was reinforced by a recent downgrade from SEB Equities to "Hold" with a SEK 100 price target. While Handelsbanken and DNB Carnegie had raised their targets on Oct. 14, the overall cautious stance combined with a fragile Swedish equity market—the OMX Stockholm 30 index had hit a three-month low on Oct. 22—amplified the negative reaction to the earnings miss.
