Aligned Launches $ALIGN Utility Token to Power Its Institutional Ethereum Stack

Summary
Ethereum infrastructure provider Aligned has released its native utility token, $ALIGN, to facilitate payments across its full-stack platform. The launch aims to simplify on-chain financial product development for institutional and fintech clients.
Ethereum infrastructure provider Aligned announced on Thursday the launch of its native utility token, $ALIGN, which is now listed on major exchanges. The token is designed to power the company's full-stack platform, which aims to streamline the process for fintechs and institutions to build financial products on the Ethereum network.
The Aligned Stack
Aligned offers an integrated suite of tools to address the complexities financial firms face when building on-chain. According to its announcement, the platform bundles services that companies typically source from multiple vendors, including wallets, rollups, interoperability protocols, and zero-knowledge (ZK) services, into a single integration.
The project is being developed in collaboration with LambdaClass, a firm known for its contributions to prominent Ethereum ecosystem projects such as Starknet, zkSync, and Polygon Miden. Aligned is releasing its platform components sequentially, with a Proof Aggregation Service already live on mainnet alpha and a Wallet-as-a-Service MVP also launched.
Token Utility and Economics
The $ALIGN token is positioned as a utility asset for the ecosystem. Its primary function will be to serve as a payment method for services across the Aligned stack, from transaction processing on its rollups to wallet services. The company emphasized that the token is not equity and does not represent a claim on revenue or dividends.
AdKey details of the token's structure include:
- Total Supply: A fixed 10 billion $ALIGN tokens.
- Initial Circulation: Approximately 16% of the total supply is circulating at launch.
- Token Standard: It is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum and is also available on the Base network.
Airdrop and Distribution
To foster adoption and reward early contributors, Aligned distributed a portion of its supply via a Genesis airdrop. The company stated the airdrop targeted a wide range of participants, including developers, researchers, and community members.
Recipients also included contributors to the broader Ethereum and ZK ecosystems, such as Protocol Guild and L2BEAT, as well as token holders of major scaling solutions like Starknet, zkSync, Polygon, and EigenCloud. This distribution strategy signals an effort to integrate with and build upon the existing Ethereum developer and user base as Aligned rolls out the remaining components of its stack.
