Airbus in Talks With Flynas for A330neo Jet Order, Sources Say
Airbus is in discussions to sell additional A330neo widebody jets to Saudi Arabian low-cost carrier Flynas, according to industry sources, with a potential announcement possible as soon as next week's Farnborough Airshow.
Potential Order Details
The negotiations reportedly center on Flynas exercising options for more of the fuel-efficient twin-aisle aircraft. A previous report from Bloomberg News specified that the Saudi airline was looking to firm up options for eight A330s.
An announcement timed for the Farnborough Airshow would be strategic, as the major aerospace event is a traditional venue for planemakers and airlines to finalize and publicize significant new orders. For Flynas, a growing low-cost carrier, an expanded widebody fleet signals a strategic push into longer-haul markets.

While confirming the talks with Flynas, the industry sources played down a separate report that German carrier Condor Flugdienst was also preparing to place an order for about half a dozen A330neos. Airbus has a policy of not commenting on confidential discussions with customers and declined to comment on the matter when contacted by Reuters.
