Background

Airbus announced on Wednesday that it delivered 351 airplanes in the first six months of 2026, marking a roughly 15% increase from the 306 jets delivered during the same period last year. The Toulouse, France-based manufacturer handed over 89 aircraft in June alone.

The current delivery pace keeps Airbus broadly on track to meet its official full-year target of 870 aircraft, according to analyst estimates. Reports suggest the company is growing more confident it may reach an informal goal of 900 deliveries, though its official guidance remains unchanged.

Despite the positive results, the company continues to navigate supply chain hurdles. While engine availability is reportedly improving, earlier shortages and delays on jets destined for China impacted Airbus's first-quarter performance. These issues allowed its U.S. rival, Boeing, to gain a temporary edge in deliveries earlier in the year.

In addition to its delivery figures, Airbus reported strong sales performance for the first half of the year. The company sold 887 aircraft between January and June, for a net total of 822 after accounting for cancellations. Aircraft delivery rates typically accelerate in the second half of the year.
