Aevo Rolls Out Options-Based Hedging for Perpetual Futures on Mobile App

Decentralized derivatives exchange Aevo has launched a new feature, PERPS+, on its mobile application, aiming to simplify risk management for perpetual futures traders. The update, announced on July 16, integrates options-based protection directly into trading positions and brings the mobile app to full feature parity with the company's desktop platform.
Simplified Hedging for Traders
PERPS+ allows users to add a protective options leg to their perpetual futures positions in a single step, removing the complexity typically associated with options trading. According to the company's announcement, the feature is designed for traders who want to manage risk without needing specialized knowledge of options contracts, strikes, or expiries.
The feature offers three predefined strategies:
- Limit My Loss: Caps the maximum potential loss on a position while leaving upside profit potential uncapped.
- Get Paid to Hold: Provides traders with an upfront premium in exchange for a cap on their potential gains.
- Lock My Range: Defines both the maximum potential profit and loss, creating a trade with a clearly defined risk-to-reward ratio for a near-zero upfront cost.
AdPERPS+ is currently available for Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) perpetual futures. "What if getting options-level protection felt exactly like trading a perp? That’s PERPS+," an Aevo spokesperson stated in the release.
Strategic Context and Platform Growth
The launch marks a key milestone for Aevo, which has processed over $10 billion in options volume since 2020. The company positions the new feature as part of its history of developing novel products in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space, such as its hybrid model that combines an off-chain order book with on-chain settlement.
In addition to product development, Aevo highlighted its tokenomics. The platform stated that its native AEVO token has completed all scheduled investor unlocks. It also runs a recurring buyback and burn program funded by exchange revenue, which has permanently removed 74 million AEVO tokens from circulation to date, creating a deflationary supply mechanic.
