Webull Shares Rise After Expanding Paper Trading to New Asset Classes

Summary
Shares of the online brokerage climbed after it announced the addition of crypto, futures, and bonds to its popular simulated trading platform, aiming to attract a wider range of investors.
Webull Corp. (NASDAQ:BULL) shares climbed 4.4% in Tuesday trading following the company's announcement that it is significantly expanding its paper trading platform to include a wider range of asset classes.
Platform Expansion
Webull announced it will extend its simulated trading environment, known as paperTrade, beyond stocks and options. The expansion will allow users to practice trading in a risk-free environment across several new categories:
- Cryptocurrencies
- Futures
- Bonds
- Event contracts
The company stated this makes it one of the few platforms to offer paper trading across six distinct asset classes within a single application. Additionally, Webull is introducing OpenAPI access for its paper trading platform, enabling developers and advanced users to test automated trading workflows and strategies.
Strategic Context
AdThe move is designed to attract and educate investors at all experience levels. Webull noted that users have already placed more than 204 million simulated orders on the platform since its launch, highlighting strong demand for practice trading tools.
"Investing is a skill that develops through experience, but gaining that experience doesn’t need to require risking your savings," said Anthony Denier, Group President and U.S. CEO of Webull. He added that paper trading is a popular feature that gives investors a place to "learn by doing."
New Features and Rollout
The enhanced platform will include advanced options order functionality and a pricing engine designed to closely reflect live market conditions. It will also feature a dedicated interface allowing users to switch seamlessly between live and paper trading accounts.
Webull confirmed that the new enhancements are scheduled to begin rolling out to users later this month.
