Vetoquinol Stock Jumps 16% on Strong H1 Profit Growth and Cash Flow

Shares in Vetoquinol surged over 16% after the French animal health group reported a significant increase in first-half profitability and a strong turnaround in cash generation. The positive results were driven by expanding margins and a robust sales recovery in the U.S. market.
Profitability and Cash Flow Surge
Vetoquinol announced that its net income, Group share, rose 21.8% to €30.5 million for the six months ending June 30, compared to €25.1 million in the same period a year earlier. Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) increased by 12.5% to €39.2 million, lifting the company's EBIT margin to 15.1% of sales from 13.5% in the first half of 2025.
The company also demonstrated a dramatic improvement in its financial health, with cash flow from operating activities climbing to €38.6 million, a substantial increase from €12.4 million in the prior-year period. This led to an €11.3 million increase in Vetoquinol's cash position, reversing a €22.5 million decrease from the first half of last year.
U.S. Rebound and Margin Drivers
A key driver of the performance was a strong rebound in the United States, which the company reaffirmed as its top market. Sales in the U.S. grew 13.1% to $60 million, a result Vetoquinol attributed to mastering a multichannel sales approach and the normalization of its supply chain.
AdOverall group sales saw a modest increase of 0.7% on a reported basis to €259.3 million, but grew 3.4% at constant exchange rates. The company said margin expansion was a result of an improved product mix, with sales of its core "Essentials" products rising 3.7% at constant exchange rates, and the successful completion of a program to simplify its complementary product lines.
Outlook and Strategy
Looking ahead, Vetoquinol acknowledged that the geopolitical and economic environment remains uncertain but noted that the direct and indirect impacts on its business have been minimal. The company stated it has no direct exposure in conflict zones.
Vetoquinol expects to see continued growth in its essential products, maintain operating profitability, and sustain strong cash generation. The company also confirmed it will continue to pursue external growth opportunities.
