Venezuela Appoints New Heads for State Petrochemical Company and Tax Authority

CARACAS – The Venezuelan government has appointed new leadership for two key state institutions. In a social media post on Tuesday, interim President Delcy Rodriguez announced that Jose David Cabello will now head the state petrochemical company, Pequiven, and Roman Maniglia will lead the country's tax authority, Seniat.
Jose David Cabello is the brother of Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello and previously served as the head of Seniat for more than a decade. He now moves to lead Pequiven, the state's major petrochemical producer.
Roman Maniglia, who takes over at Seniat, previously served as the head of the state-run Bank of Venezuela. In a related move, Rodriguez also named Calixto Ortega Sanchez as the new president of the Bank of Venezuela.
