Background

Vantage Markets, a multi-asset broker, has launched a new contract for difference (CFD) product that enables 24/7 trading on gold. The offering, named XAUUSD247, allows eligible clients to trade the precious metal beyond traditional market hours, including on weekends.

Product Details

According to the announcement on July 4, 2026, the new over-the-counter (OTC) product is designed to provide traders with continuous access to the gold market. It is available on the MT5 and TradingView platforms, as well as the Vantage App.

Key features of the XAUUSD247 product include:

  • Continuous Trading: The product is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, subject to scheduled platform maintenance.
  • Contract Size: It uses a one-ounce contract size, which is significantly smaller than the broker's traditional 100-ounce XAUUSD contract.
  • Leverage: Tiered leverage of up to 100x may be available, depending on the client's position size, account type, and other conditions.
  • Costs: Vantage stated that no separate trading commission applies, though spreads, financing charges, and other costs may be incurred.

Market Context and Risk Management

The launch comes as CME Group has also announced plans to expand trading hours for certain gold futures products, though Vantage clarified that its XAUUSD247 is a separate OTC offering. This move reflects a broader industry trend toward providing more flexible access to key markets, allowing traders to react to geopolitical or economic news that occurs when traditional exchanges are closed.

"XAUUSD247 provides eligible clients with access to gold CFDs beyond standard market hours, supported by transparent product mechanics and clearly defined trading controls," said Marc Despallieres, Chief Executive Officer at Vantage. The broker noted that the product incorporates net and gross exposure limits at the account level. If a client's exposure reaches a set threshold, the account will enter a "close-only" mode until the exposure is reduced.

Contracts for difference are complex, leveraged instruments that carry a high degree of risk. The ability to trade 24/7 can increase opportunities but also exposes traders to potential volatility during periods of lower liquidity, such as weekends.
