Vantage Markets Launches 24/7 Gold CFD Trading

Vantage Markets, a multi-asset broker, announced the launch of a new contract for difference (CFD) product that allows for 24/7 trading of gold. The product, named XAUUSD247, is designed to give eligible clients access to the gold market beyond the traditional five-day trading week.
Product Details
The new offering is an over-the-counter (OTC) CFD product available on the MT5, TradingView, and Vantage App platforms. According to the company's announcement on July 4, 2026, it is distinct from exchange-traded futures and features a smaller contract size.
Key features of XAUUSD247 include:
- Contract Size: One ounce, compared to the 100-ounce contract for Vantage's standard XAUUSD product.
- Leverage: Tiered leverage of up to 100x may be available, subject to account type and position size.
- Cost: No separate trading commission is applied, though spreads, financing charges, and other costs are applicable.
"XAUUSD247 provides eligible clients with access to gold CFDs beyond standard market hours, supported by transparent product mechanics and clearly defined trading controls," said Marc Despallieres, Chief Executive Officer at Vantage, in the statement.
AdMarket Context and Risk Management
The move by Vantage comes as other market participants also explore extended trading hours. CME Group recently announced its own plans to expand trading for certain gold futures products to a 24/7 schedule, pending regulatory review. Vantage's product is a separate OTC offering aimed at the retail CFD market.
To manage the risks associated with continuous trading and high leverage, Vantage has incorporated net and gross exposure limits at the account level. If an account reaches its exposure threshold, it will be placed into a "close-only" mode until the exposure is reduced. The availability and specific terms of the product are subject to jurisdictional restrictions.
Implications for Traders
The introduction of 24/7 gold trading allows investors to react to geopolitical or economic news that occurs over the weekend when traditional markets are closed. The smaller one-ounce contract size also lowers the barrier to entry for traders looking to gain exposure to gold price movements. However, traders should be aware that CFDs are complex, leveraged instruments that carry a high risk of rapid financial loss.
