Vantage Launches 24/7 Gold CFD Trading with New XAUUSD247 Product

Summary
The multi-asset broker introduced XAUUSD247, an OTC derivative product that allows eligible clients to trade gold contracts for difference continuously, including on weekends.
Vantage, a multi-asset broker, has launched a new contract for difference (CFD) product that enables clients to trade gold 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The offering, named XAUUSD247, extends trading of the precious metal beyond traditional market hours to include weekends, according to a company announcement on July 4.
Product Details and Availability
The new over-the-counter (OTC) derivative product is available to eligible clients on the MT5 and TradingView platforms, as well as the Vantage App. The company outlined several key features for the new offering:
- A contract size of one ounce, which is smaller than the 100-ounce contract for its standard XAUUSD product.
- Tiered leverage of up to 100x, subject to position size and account type.
- No separate trading commissions, although spreads, financing charges, and other costs may apply.
The product also includes a risk-management framework with net and gross exposure limits at the account level. If these thresholds are reached, an account will be placed into a close-only mode until its exposure is reduced.
Market Context
AdVantage's launch follows a recent announcement by CME Group regarding its plans to expand trading hours for certain gold futures products to 24/7, subject to regulatory review. The move by Vantage to offer a similar around-the-clock experience for an OTC product reflects a broader industry trend toward continuous market access, driven by trader demand for greater flexibility to react to global events.
"XAUUSD247 provides eligible clients with access to gold CFDs beyond standard market hours, supported by transparent product mechanics and clearly defined trading controls," said Marc Despallieres, Chief Executive Officer at Vantage, in the statement.
Implications for Traders
The introduction of weekend trading for a major asset like gold allows investors to manage positions or react to significant geopolitical or economic news that occurs when traditional markets are closed. This continuous access can provide opportunities to hedge risk outside of the standard trading week.
However, traders should note that market conditions during non-traditional hours, particularly on weekends, can differ significantly. These periods may be characterized by lower liquidity and wider bid-ask spreads, which can increase volatility and trading costs. Vantage specified that the availability of XAUUSD247 and its associated trading conditions are subject to jurisdictional restrictions.
