Vantage Launches 24/7 Gold CFD Trading with New OTC Product

Multi-asset broker Vantage Markets announced the launch of a new over-the-counter (OTC) product that allows for 24/7 trading of gold Contracts for Difference (CFDs), including on weekends. The new instrument, trading under the symbol XAUUSD247, is designed to give traders more flexibility beyond traditional market hours.
According to a company statement on July 4, the product will be available to eligible clients on the MT5 and TradingView platforms, as well as the Vantage App. The move comes as market participants show increasing interest in extended trading sessions, highlighted by CME Group's recent announcement of plans to expand trading for certain gold futures products to 24/7, pending regulatory review.
Product Specifications
Vantage's XAUUSD247 is a distinct OTC product with several key features aimed at retail traders. The broker outlined the following specifications:
- Contract Size: The product uses a one-ounce contract size, significantly smaller than the 100-ounce contract for Vantage's standard XAUUSD offering.
- Leverage: Tiered leverage of up to 100x may be available, depending on the client's account type, region, and position size.
- Costs: While there is no separate trading commission, traders will be subject to applicable spreads and financing charges.
Ad"XAUUSD247 provides eligible clients with access to gold CFDs beyond standard market hours, supported by transparent product mechanics and clearly defined trading controls," said Marc Despallieres, Chief Executive Officer at Vantage.
Risk Management and Market Impact
The product incorporates specific risk-management features, including net and gross exposure limits at the account level. If an account's exposure reaches a predefined threshold, it will be placed into a close-only mode until the exposure is reduced. Vantage also noted a one-sided margin calculation for eligible accounts holding both long and short positions.
For investors and traders, the introduction of 24/7 gold CFD trading offers the ability to react to geopolitical or economic news that occurs over the weekend, when traditional markets are closed. However, traders should be aware that liquidity and spreads may differ significantly from standard trading hours. The availability of this product is subject to jurisdictional restrictions.
