Vantage Launches 24/7 Gold CFD Trading Product

Vantage Markets, a multi-asset broker, announced the launch of a new over-the-counter (OTC) financial product that enables clients to trade gold contracts for difference (CFDs) 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The product, named XAUUSD247, allows trading to continue through the weekend, a period when traditional commodity markets are closed.
Product Details
According to the July 4 announcement, the new offering provides continuous access to gold price speculation for eligible clients on the MT5, TradingView, and Vantage App platforms. The product is officially set to launch on July 6.
Key features of the XAUUSD247 CFD include:
- Contract Size: One troy ounce, which is significantly smaller than the firm's standard 100-ounce XAUUSD contract.
- Leverage: Tiered leverage of up to 100x may be available, subject to position size, account type, and other conditions.
- Costs: The product does not have a separate trading commission, but applicable spreads and financing charges will apply.
- Risk Controls: The instrument includes net and gross exposure limits at the account level. Accounts that exceed these thresholds will enter a "close-only" mode until exposure is reduced.
AdMarket Context and Implications
The move by Vantage reflects a broader industry trend toward extended trading hours. The firm noted that CME Group has also announced plans to expand trading of certain gold futures products to a 24/7 schedule, subject to regulatory review. Vantage clarified that its XAUUSD247 is a separate OTC product.
"XAUUSD247 provides eligible clients with access to gold CFDs beyond standard market hours, supported by transparent product mechanics and clearly defined trading controls," said Marc Despallieres, Chief Executive Officer at Vantage.
For traders, the ability to trade gold on weekends allows them to react to geopolitical or economic news that breaks when markets are typically closed. This could potentially mitigate the risk of significant price gaps at the market open on Monday. The smaller contract size also makes the product more accessible to traders with smaller capital bases, though the high leverage available still presents substantial risk.
