Utorg Secures EU MiCA License as New Crypto Regulations Take Effect

Summary
Crypto platform Utorg has received full authorization under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation. The license comes as the July 1 deadline for compliance forces many unauthorized crypto service providers to cease operations in the European Economic Area.
Utorg, a crypto wallet and card platform, announced it has received full authorization under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation. The license is effective July 1, 2026, which marks the end of the industry's transitional period and the deadline for crypto-asset service providers to gain authorization to operate legally within the 29-member European Economic Area (EEA).
MiCA is the EU's first comprehensive regulatory framework for crypto-assets, designed to create unified standards for consumer protection, market integrity, and transparency. Under the new rules, authorized firms are required to segregate user funds from company assets, provide upfront disclosure of fees, and establish a formal process for user complaints to national regulators.
The July 1 deadline has reportedly led a significant number of crypto firms to withdraw or restrict their services for European users. According to the company's announcement, Utorg is among a small number of platforms to have completed the full authorization process, allowing it to operate under the new regulatory regime from its first day.
AdWith the license, Utorg will continue to offer its product suite to EEA residents, including a non-custodial crypto wallet and a crypto card. The company, founded in 2019, also holds a PCI DSS Level 2 certification for payment card data security.
