Turkish Stocks Close Flat as BIST 100 Edges Down 0.09%

Summary
Turkey's benchmark BIST 100 index ended Tuesday's session nearly unchanged, closing down a marginal 0.09% as losses in technology and transport stocks offset gains elsewhere in the market.
Turkish stocks finished Tuesday's session nearly flat, with the benchmark BIST 100 index closing down by a marginal 0.09%. The slight decline was driven by weakness in the leasing, transport, and technology sectors, according to data from the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
Sector Divergence and Market Breadth
Pressure on the main index came from notable losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Transport, and Technology sectors. These declines among larger constituents were enough to pull the overall index into negative territory for the day.
Despite the headline index's dip, market breadth was positive. Data showed that 356 stocks advanced on the Istanbul Stock Exchange, while 247 declined and 24 remained unchanged. This suggests that while some large-cap stocks fell, a broader portion of the market saw gains.
Top Movers on the BIST 100
Several companies posted significant gains, standing out against the flat market trend. The top performers on the BIST 100 included:
- Margun Enerji Uretim (MAGEN): +9.97%
- Balsu Gida Sanayi (BALSU): +9.94%
- Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik (KRDMD): +6.80%
AdOn the other side of the ledger, a few stocks weighed on the index. The session's worst performers were:

- Pasifik Eurasia Lojistik (PASEU): -3.58%
- Enerjisa Enerji (ENJSA): -2.93%
Currency and Commodity Markets
In foreign exchange markets, the Turkish Lira saw modest movements. The USD/TRY pair edged up 0.06% to 47.04, while the EUR/TRY pair gained 0.43% to 53.81.
Commodity markets were broadly positive during the session. Gold Futures for August delivery climbed 2.13%, while the September contract for Brent crude, the international oil benchmark, rose 0.91% to trade at $84.06 per barrel.
