Background

Saudi Arabia's benchmark stock index, the Tadawul All Share, edged higher at the close of Sunday's trading session, buoyed by strength in industrial and construction-related sectors. The modest gain came despite a broader market where declining stocks slightly outnumbered advancers, indicating mixed investor sentiment.

Session Highlights

The Tadawul All Share (TASI) finished the day up 0.10%, according to closing data from the Saudi Exchange. The advance was primarily driven by positive performance in the Industrial Investment, Cement, and Building & Construction sectors.

Despite the index's gain, market breadth was slightly negative. Data showed that 159 companies saw their shares decline, while 154 advanced and 25 closed unchanged. This suggests that the session's gains were concentrated in a handful of influential sectors rather than being market-wide.

Broader Market Context

In foreign exchange markets, the USD/SAR pair remained stable at 3.75, consistent with the Saudi riyal's long-standing peg to the U.S. dollar.
