Broad-Based Declines Hit Tel Aviv
The TA 35 index, which tracks the 35 largest companies on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE), finished the session down 0.99%, according to data from Investing.com. The downturn was led by significant losses across the Insurance, Financials, and Banking sectors.
Market breadth confirmed the widespread selling pressure, with declining stocks outnumbering advancers by a significant margin. A total of 318 stocks fell, compared to 158 that rose, while 82 issues ended the day unchanged.
Sector and Stock Movers
Despite the broader market decline, several large-cap stocks posted significant gains, led by a surge in the healthcare sector.

- Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TASE:TEVA) was the standout gainer, surging 10.17%.
- NICE Ltd (TASE:NICE) climbed 5.79%.
- Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Corp Ltd (TASE:BEZQ) rose 1.61%.
AdOn the other side of the ledger, renewable energy and technology firms were among the session's biggest losers.

Commodities and Currency Markets
In the wider commodities market, energy prices saw a significant rally. Crude oil for September delivery was up sharply by 7.62% to $85.30 a barrel, while Brent oil for October delivery rose 6.99%. Conversely, gold futures for August delivery fell 0.89% to trade at $4,002.70 a troy ounce.
In foreign exchange, the Israeli shekel weakened against major currencies. The USD/ILS pair rose 0.90% to 3.08, indicating a stronger U.S. dollar relative to the shekel.
