Background

Streamex Corp. (NASDAQ: STEX) has made its tokenized, yield-bearing gold security available through traditional brokerage accounts, a strategic move aimed at making digital assets more accessible to conventional investors. The collaboration, announced on June 29, involves FINRA-member broker Siebert Financial and regulated digital-securities platform tZERO.

Bridging TradFi and Digital Assets

The partnership allows Siebert Financial, which oversees approximately $20 billion in client assets, to offer Streamex's $GLDY security directly to its clients. Under the arrangement, Streamex issues the security, Siebert handles distribution, and tZERO provides custody services for the digital asset.

This structure enables accredited investors to gain exposure to tokenized gold through their existing brokerage relationship, bypassing the need for cryptocurrency wallets or direct interaction with blockchain technology. The process is designed to be as familiar as purchasing a stock or a bond.

How the $GLDY Security Works

$GLDY is a regulated security backed by physical gold that offers a variable yield of up to approximately 3.5% annually. According to Streamex, this yield is generated by lending the underlying bullion to commercial users, such as jewelers, mints, and refiners. Returns are distributed to holders monthly in the form of additional gold.

"Putting $GLDY into a brokerage account is a major step... because it meets traditional investors exactly where they already are," said Henry McPhie, Co-Founder and CEO of Streamex, in a statement. The product is currently available only to verified accredited investors under Rule 506(c) of Regulation D.

Market Context and Future Plans

This initiative is the latest step in Streamex's strategy to broaden the market for tokenized commodities. The company previously enabled secondary trading for $GLDY in May on Orca, a decentralized exchange on the Solana blockchain.

Streamex also stated its intention to build a tokenization platform for a wider retail audience, with plans for a version of its digital gold product that would not be a restricted security. This strategy aligns with the growing investor interest in tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), which have seen a sharp increase in trading volume on networks like Solana in 2026.
