Commodities and Currencies
The equity market's gains came despite a downturn in the energy complex. WTI crude oil futures for November delivery fell 1.81% to trade at $92.90 per barrel, while the November Brent crude contract declined 1.70% to $104.79 per barrel.
In contrast, gold futures for December delivery saw an increase of 0.58% to $4,322.95 an ounce. In currency markets, the Canadian dollar was little changed against its U.S. counterpart, with the CAD/USD pair holding steady at 0.71. Meanwhile, the U.S. Dollar Index Futures edged lower by 0.27% to 100.75.
